
Winter returned unexpectedly. Snow had been falling for two days straight, covering the world in a thick, white blanket. The tree branches, heavy with snow, bent low, almost touching the ground. I can’t remember the last time I played in the snow.

I carry many childhood memories—photographs, too. One, in particular, stays with me: my mother pulling me on a sled, smiling, happy. Winters were different then. Wilder, truer, full of magic. I am grateful that, living in the mountains, I still get to experience them.

I will build him? Yes. Why not?

Since I came here, life has taken on a different dimension. I live. I experience. I think. And when he finally stood outside, he became real, tangible. A strange feeling—he stands there, staring at my window. He has come into being. He exists. In the morning, I looked outside to see if he was still there, or if perhaps, during the night, he had wandered off.

In a few days, he will melt. Disappear. Vanish without a trace. And yet, as long as he stands, I feel his presence.

Bob. His name is Bob. Those who know Bob will understand. I miss him.

A bit of snow, a bit of time—and here he is. Soon, he will be gone. But the memory will remain.

Everything is melting. She has arrived. Yes, it’s her. I missed warming my face in the sun. It’s amazing how this simple thing is so incredible. In the distance, I hear drops of melting snow hitting the roof. The birds have gone crazy. Diego is starting to feel the spring too. He walks around, sniffing. Everything excites him.

Man doesn’t live by mountains alone. Sometimes, you just need to escape the wilderness and drop by the city. Today, it was a quick trip to Wrocław for a coffee with my good friend Patryk – a talented composer for games and films. We met in his cozy studio, where between sips of coffee, we dove into conversations about his latest projects and creative plans.

a quick coffee and musical inspiration


Up here in the mountains, winter mornings bring a familiar sight — Horvat, the black cat, lurking in the woodshed. He hides between the stacked logs, eyes locked on the bird feeder just outside.

Horvat isn’t a local. He came from Croatia, a stray picked up by my neighbors during their summer trip. Now, he rules these snowy slopes like he’s always belonged.

There’s something about him — something ancient and mysterious. His black fur, his silent presence, and the way his green eyes glint in the dim light remind me of the old stories of Dracula. After all, wasn’t Dracula a foreigner who crossed borders, too?

Horvat doesn’t make a sound, just watches. Waiting. King of the woodshed. Hunter of the mountain birds.  
Perhaps a little _Dracul_ in his blood, too.

The air was cold, and the ground crunched under my feet as I walked. I drove to Lake Bystrzyckie to check if the water level was rising. The dam is finally repaired, and the water is slowly returning, filling the empty basin. The quiet was broken only by the wind, and the winter landscape felt still.

#### Today, despite the frosty weather, I stepped outside to capture a few frames of the first frozen, frosty morning to test out the simulation of the famous Agfacolor film from the 1940s. My Fuji camera and RAW files gave me the opportunity for precise editing, and in post-production, I applied an effect inspired by this historic film emulsion.

#### Agfacolor – a pioneering color technology from World War II – introduced completely new, vibrant colors, different from other color methods like the popular Technicolor in the USA. Agfacolor allowed for a three-layer emulsion effect, giving photos depth and color intensity. That’s why, as a lover of the cinematic look, I felt it was worth checking how these unique colors would work in my photography.

#### The history of Agfacolor is equally fascinating – after the war, this technology became the basis for further innovations by Kodak, which used the acquired knowledge to develop its own color systems, further revolutionizing color photography.

#### The result? Judge for yourselves. The shots gained depth and a slightly nostalgic atmosphere that evokes classic films.
